◆ Overview:

Electric actuators generally refer to electric actuator mechanisms.

The broadest definition of an actuator is: a driving device that can provide linear or rotational motion, which utilizes a certain driving energy source and operates under the action of a certain control signal. The actuator uses liquid, gas, electricity or other energy sources and converts them into driving force through motors, cylinders or other devices. Its basic types include three driving methods: Part-Turn, Multi-Turn and Linear.

◆ Advantages

The main advantage of electric actuators is their high stability and the constant thrust that users can apply. The maximum thrust generated by the largest actuator can reach up to 225,000 KGF. Only hydraulic actuators can achieve such a large thrust, but the cost of hydraulic actuators is much higher than that of electric ones.

The anti-deviation capability of electric actuators is excellent. The output thrust or torque is basically constant, which can effectively overcome the unbalanced force of the medium and achieve accurate control of process parameters. Therefore, the control accuracy is higher than that of pneumatic actuators. If a servo amplifier is used, it is very easy to switch between positive and negative actions, and the valve position state (hold/fully open/fully closed) can also be easily set when the signal is off. In case of a fault, it will definitely remain in its original position, which is something that pneumatic actuators cannot do. Pneumatic actuators must rely on a set of combined protection systems to achieve position retention.
